Bodrum is a town of white-washed houses hung with bougainvillea, rising in tiers on the green hill overlooking a dazzling blue bay at the entrance to which stands a medieval castle built by the Knights of Rhodes. Here, where the Aegean and the Mediterranean meet, is one of Turkey‘s loveliest holiday resorts, with its long palm lined waterfront and its marina crowded in the summer with elegant yachts. Not far from the center of town it is possible to swim in unbelievably clear, tideless, warm seas.
Underwater divers, especially, will not want to miss the numerous unexplored reefs with caves and majestic rock formations. ...

Turgutreis is the second largest town on the Bodrum Peninsula, and provides the visitors with a glimpse of real Turkish life combined with sufficient recreational amenities for everyone.

Turgutreis is named after the great Turkish Ottoman Admiral of the same name ( known in the west as DRAGUT ) who was born here in the 16th. century.

Today, the town bearing the great Admiral's name is a main holiday destination on the western tip of Bodrum peninsula with it's Tangerine orchards, largest weekly market on the Bodrum Peninsula, best sunset in western Turkey and one of largest marinas in Europe where daily ferryboat services to Kos and Kalimnos (Greek Islands) provide easy access to another country. For the more recreational minded, Turgutreis features long sandy beaches, waterfront restaurants, cafes and bars all with a special Mediterranean / Aegean flavour.
